Metro Shuffle

During the weekend of July 31 through August 2 2015, a newly constructed metro train station was moved in its entirety from one side of the The Hague Prins Berhard-viaduct to the other side, onto a set of pillars where it will be put into use during the summer of 2016. The station is called the Haags Startstation Erasmuslijn (HSE)

The video is a timelapse, taken from our apartment next to where the station is being constructed and it shows the amazing move of the entire station over the period of three days. The move was hardly perceptible live, but the time lapse shows clearly how it’s moved step by tiny step. I shot the video using a Canon EOS 30D and put it together with Capture One and ffmpeg, along with music by Möbius (Slow Motion from Per Aspera Ad Astra by Möbius, which is free under an appropriate CC license)
